Hello Team,

It is nearing OUR season and I can sense that everyone is anxious and excited about the Nats.
Some encouragement to3 groups of people:

1. To the seasoned and experienced ones

This is the final Track competition that you might ever take part after this. Treasure and savour every moment that runs up to the last time you cross the finishing line. It might have been a really 'suay' season with injuries, setbacks and fears that you might have, but nonetheless, you have gone through them all. I urge you to take hold of your experiences and use them to help run your final race. Own the competition and make it one that you will always remember. You may not reach your goals or targets. But go out there and give it your best shot. Like what I always say: Go compete and come out it without regrets. That's the more important thing.

2. To those who are taking part in Nationals for the first time ever:

Congrats on pulling through a really tough and perhpas questionable year of training from last year. Along way, some of us might have thought of giving up track and leaving the team. But I am glad that you held onto the team and continued to train together with the team.

Some of us might be feeling really scared about the Nationals Schools. It is THE event for us. But don't succumb to the fears that you have. We have trained as much as we could, been through much pain, sweat and sacrifices to reach here. Some of us have thoughts of giving up because of self-doubts and begin to experience loss of self-confidence. Stop doing destructive self-talk and causing yourself to lose confidence. Coach and the teachers are confident that you guys are going to put your best effort out there. If you lose hope and confidence in yourself and in our judgement, then you have already lost your race.

You have trained as hard as anyone could. Don't waste your efforts by thinking lowly about your abilities and your preparations. Like earlier: Go out there, compete with honour and good sportsmanship and come out of your competition without regrets, because you have given your best shot at the competition. Whatever the results, we are proud of your acheivements.

3. Those who are injured and sick

We do whatever we can with our limitations. We don't curse at our shortcomings or the bad timings of our injuries. It may very discouraging to be kept away from trainings because of our injuries and sickness. But really in this run-up to the Nationals, please take care of yourself and be very disciplined about nursing your health and your injury. We must be disciplined in training and in rehab, if we want to get back on our feet with almost 100% condition.

I hope that you have been encouraged by what I have said.

Ok, during the first 2 weeks of Term 4, Trainings will only be on tuesdays and Fridays, same timings as usual. Extra training will be on your own initiative, strictly. But do keep the teachers posted on your extra trainings coz we don't want you to over-train and neglect your BT2.
Will keep you posted of trainings during Nationals after BT2.

Meantime:
1. Rest and sleep sufficiently.
2. Drink plenty of water.
3. Take Mulit-vitamins (esp Vit C, Vit Bs)
4. Take care of your injuries (Visit the physio if needed)
5. (if those of us who pray) Pray
